First Timer - opti 146 With Shuttle XPC

Thread Starter
Hi guys!

Well, first post here, keen to get into overclokcing and have just bought an Opty 146 for my first attempt! Hope I can manage it all... ; ) Will be dropping this into a Shuttle XPC SN25P, so hoping again that I can get a decent OC on it. Not looking for anything ground breaking, but with any luck can get 2.6 GHz providing I can get enough FSB...!

Anyway, hopefully the whole system should be arriving next week, so once it's built I'll then try and get it flying a bit. If anyone has got some decent advice for a nooby, and even better, anyone else running an OC Opty in a Shuttle, I'd really welcome any support and advice...!

Thanks guys - keep up all the good comment... ; )

I used to have shuttle they OC nicely but they run HOT. You may have to modify that case to install additional fans.

To start off, I would highly recommend at least a 480-500w quality PSU before you start overclocking.

And when you get your parts, you should be able to get around 2.6-2.8 with the 146 on stock voltage.
When everything arrives, we will overclock then..until then, read overclocking guides..
