Liquid Cooling in laptops?

Thread Starter
Does anyone see liquid cooling in laptops becoming a reality within the next 4 years? I would really love to have liquid cooling in the laptop I buy when I go off to college. If not liquid cooling, are there any other emerging types of cooling that might be adapted to the notebook computer that are more effective than standard fans.

Watercooling wont happen.
Too heavy. Still needs fans. No reason.

You'd have a pretty darn thick notebook.

Most current notebooks use heatpipes, thats kind of alternative. I think its definitely a possibility though,Take a look at the CoolerMaster Aquagate mini,or the Thermaltake Tidewater.

WC is getting smaller and smaller,so its a definite possiblity.

I think it would be possible if they designed it correctly.

Would almost defeat the purpose of a notebook though

I think that they would use the liquid metal cooling that showed up on a video card a while back. Its got tiny magnets as pumps instead of those bulky water pumps.

The thing with shrinking water systems is that they would become very ineffective.

Liquid metal was a no go. The company who was going to produce the system for Sapphire, pulled out of the project a long time ago.
