High Temp!!!!

Thread Starter
I just checked my cpu temp after playing NFS:MW for about an hour and it was 48 c. Is that too high?

Now it seems that my cpu temp only goes down 1 degree when I put everything back to stock! What could be the problem? I idle at 38 - 40 @ stock cpu speeds and the same temps at 10.5 x 200 w/ vcore 1.65v on both. I have a volcano 10 base which is all copper and has a smartfan2 on top. Should I try another fan or heat sink all together? If so which one?

It is best to run a program like speedfan in the background while playing the game. Then you will be able to see how HOT it really got. Checking the temp directly after quitting the game isn't accurately demonstrating your maximum temp.
I'm pretty sure you were running a program in the background, just trying to be informative for others.

That is correct, it only takes a few seconds for a cpu to drop back down to idle temperature and only a few for it to get back up to operating temps.

I run the 2500+M and idle around 48C... load around 52C. I have an issue with dust getting into my heatsink though. Tonight I throw a little water on the situation

I wouldn't worry about those temps too much. Die temp for these chips is like 85C.
