Some people have told me that if you are going to overclock memory to get OCZ Platinum edition RAM....not really sure why but if you're going OCZ and want to OC get the Platinum the Gold editions are set up for gaming

For your DFI Board, get G.SKILL, or GeIL ONE, depending on how much ram you want you're going to make a few decisions.

If you only want 1GB, then get a 2x512MB kit of G.SKILL TCCD:

If you want 2GB, then get either 4x512MB kit of G.SKILL TCCD:

If you want 2GB but sacrifice timings at higher overclocks, get a 2x1GB kit of G.SKILL:

Don't waste your time worring about timings.

I was always worried about timings before I realized you can make up for timings with overall bandwidth(I'd actually say its the other way around). In other words, ram running at 2.5-3-3-6 at even 240 is going to get spanked by ram running at 3-4-4-8 at 260-280mhz.

Get the HZ Gskill stuff http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231021

It's cool for the fellow before to help, but IMO each one of those links he gave you would not be a good choice for your $$$.

You only need about 5mhz more bandwidth to make up the difference between slow and fast ram, I've tested it myself.

I've been spending a bunch of time benchmarking my old ram config and my new ram config and high end ram has the worst $$$ to performance increase ratio.

Take my advise and get DDR500 RAM 2x1gig sticks if you are overclocking and play games.
I tried to get the low timing ram and OC it and I'm just not seeing the numbers that I would see if I had DDR500 ram running at DDR550mhz with a 1:1 overclock.

Don't get the stuff you linked to first.

If your going to get that save some $$$ and get the ZX's, same thing but not as nice of PCB board, that's the only difference.

Yes, the 2nd link is the stuff I'm talking about.

Screw timings, get as much bandwidth as you can.

I was obsessed with timings until I actually started benchmarking fast ram vs slower stuff and the difference is :0/
