Why not, if it runs on the PS3, then it should be somewhere between easy and trivial to make the Source engine run on Linux. (Or the Mac, for that matter.)

Steam support does not mean game support. I recon if they do release steam for osx and linux then there will be a seperate store and titles that will only be compatible. In other words the current games will not be supported out of the box.

No my friend. OpenGL 3 was a huge let down. A year late, several features missing etc. However, I would say that OpenGL may be lacking in some features, but can produce much better visuals with less power required.

True, but all it would take is a port to OpenGL and bam. If you ever notice, Source already has a lot of *nix like properties. The game uses forward slashes instead of the Windows backslash for file locations. Files are compressed in .bz2 etc etc

Agreed but ATI is doing pretty good getting DX11 stuff going in OPENGL. They've already got tesselation calls. I seriously think that Open GL 3.0 and 3.2 has like 60 more calls that need to be implimented. It's way unfinished business.
I just wish everyone would forget about the steam for linux and OSX and ignore it for another year till it's ready.

I believe EA handled that, as Valve didn't want to deal with coding for PS3, and it runs less than optimally (lots of frame rate issues). So yeah, it's possible, but highly unlikely.

ODD: Lolwut? Linux on usb drive FTW
Power cord: Found it somewhere, ever since I found the power cord, the PS3 won't work (I don't know if it uses the same connector, but you get the joke)

This is why I want Source to natively run on Linux, more money for Games and parts.

Not sure if it was mentioned earlier but there's been a rumor about Valve porting steam/source engine to nix that's been floating about for years now.

While a native steam would be nice, it doesn't do much good unless they port the source engine with it.
