AMD doesn't say its safe at 71c. Thats probably the TCase max temp for the chip where massive damage is being done. (fail point). The highest "safe" temperature without damage would be 50-55c. Anything above 55c and you are slowly killing your chip and lowering it's life span.

You got it up to 2.7? I cant even get it passed 2.5. I tried overclocking it to 2.55 but it would keep rebooting because it wasnt stable. I went all the way up to 2.7 volts using the overvoltage 200 option. Do you know what my problem is? I set the ddrcore to 2.7, and I dunno much about comps but what is the HTT? I read you post about how the HTT should be 4x, well i went into my bois and couldnt find HTT, i have it on 233FBS with 11X mulitiplier and it wont run stable, it keeps rebooting and giving me errors. The most i can overclock running stable is at 2.47 wiht a voltage of 1.42 running on prime 95. Do you know what my problem is? Can you help me out please? Thanks.

I have the vCore set @ 1.4, and i've tried higher just to try to get it to post, but it won't even do that. Here are my specs

Athlon x2 4400+ 0532
Asus a8n-sli deluxe
1gb (2x512) GeIL Memory (dual channel)
Sunbeam NUUO PSU
XFX 6600GT 256MB
Stock cooling

My load temps aren;t topping 48 during CPU burn. I can get 32M in superpi in 20s. I like the performance of the processor, but i want to get to 2.4. Is there anything i am missing, or have i just hit a wall?

I hope this is some help: I have a 4400 (well, see my specs, no point typing them all out again ) and I managed to reach 2,790 MHz stable. However, it definitely does seem to hit a wall after that - as in, it just won't go any higher.

This may be a silly question, but is your PSU powerful enough? If it keeps rebooting, that may be it - you can usually tell by that horrible click noise it makes =P

Have you checked your RAM timings? Lowering the CL to 3 should help, and taking some of those settings off Auto may help it post. I know it's not an overclocker's dream, but a wall at 2.5GHz seems a bit low. Play around with your RAM, and see what happens.
