Just keep an eye on your temps and make sure to keep them below 50°C. Those CPUs have been going past 3Ghz on very low voltage, so I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem.

Doubt you want to leave that CPU at stock as you could have just overclocked a 3800+ to those speeds

Sorry to be so negative .But you have a wicked system there with a £700 cpu your worried about clocking up slightly .£130 would have bought you an opty that runs@ those speeds with next to no risks. I would love a fx60 but the justification just simply is,nt there.

But back to the job in hand. Lift up your Fsb about 5mhz at a time nice and slowly without touching anything in the BIOS except lower the HTT down to X3 this give you a more stable o/c . when your each your limit ad a little v-core but watch the temps . These can increase quite quickly when you start to add more juice. Try to keep temps below 55 degrees full load

The HS AMD CPUs come with now are pretty good. Not the cheep things CPUs came with in the past. AMD uses the same Heat Pipe tech that the high end HS brands use and if you get some AS5 there will be very little if any difference in temps from an expensive aftermarket HS. Basicaly all X2s and FX chips come with the good HS and all CPUs AMD will ship in the future will also have them.

i would like an FX-60, but i can;t justify 2 1/2 to 3 paychecks to get one. Anyway, my 4400+ is faster thana stock FX-60, and i wouldn;t want to risk damaging that beautiful piece of technology.

Check out this link to Tom's Hardware... They did 2.8ghz with the stock heatsink and 3.0ghz with watercooling.

edit: To Markuk, The Fx-60 has unlocked multi's so you don't have to change the system speed, (if you dont want to...)

not trying to be mean ,, but why would you buy an FX-60 and then do,,,

1. run it 200 mhz over,,, (waste of money) get an opty then

2. Run it with the stock HS,, spend $1200 on a chip but cant spend alittle more on better cooling,,

3. not run your chilled water kit you say you have on it and take it up over 3ghz,,,,

im just confused
