A general rule for all newbies everywhere is to understand these basic settings in your BIOS first.....they might be worded differently, but these are the most used settings with any overclock. Make sure you figure out what is what in your BIOS!!
FSB/HTT speed........by default should be 200
CPU multiplier........depends on your cpu, looks like x9, x10, or x11....etc..
HTT Multiplier.......very important, numbers like x5, x4, x3....
Vcore (cpu voltage).......varies from 1.35 up to 1.7+
Memory timings (DRAM configuration).....usually a sub-directory of where your cpu settings are.
Memory Divider (Max memclock frequency)......very important for overclocking, numbers look like 400,333 or 200,166 or 1:1, 5:4...multiple options
Memory voltage (VDIMM)......usually starts at 2.6v, can go up to 3.8v on some boards.
Learn these basic settings and what name they are called in your
bios. Each bios has different names for the same thing.
So when someone recommends some settings for you when overclocking, you will know what we are talking about without having to explain anything in detail....
