anyway jokes aside i would probably say based on ur specs which is rather impressive u could easily touch 4.0GHZ if not more i'm guessing in the range of about 4.3GHz because its possible...

i pushed my 630 with lousy water cooling to 4.06GHz... so its very possible....

i have got the cpu at 3.6 no problem (225x16). should i raise the core voltage at all? its currently at 1.3875V but ive eard people upping it to over 1.5V. is this necessary? and what effect would it have on my system?

it is usually necessary to raise voltage to OC higher, because the cpu nneds the extra power to stay stable, eventually if u keep raising the fsb, it will crash at this time u will need to raise the vcore and possible loosen memory timings.. the more the vcore the more the heat, so when u start doing this u need to keep a close eye on your temps and not let it go higher than about 60c to be safe, but lower than 50c is prefered

I would check to see the highest clock first before messing around with the Vcore, because a nice clock with stock Vcore is always nice, like mine .

I'm not sure about your board but with an ASUS P5AD2-E Premium and a 630 I have achieved 4.0GHz easily with stock voltages. Thats at 266fsb x 4 = 1066fsb and DDR2533 @ 711MHz again with stock voltages.
