Hello and welcome to OCN.

Get a C3 955 instead and just overclock it. They're hitting better frequencies anyway, and are cheaper.

You're going to want some hard drive(s). I say a Samsung F3 500Gb drive, since they're fast and cheap.

Optical drive, just get any SATA DVD RW one. They don't really make a difference.

Power supply -- well, I'd go for a good 550 to 750W unit, depending on how much you want to upgrade.

For cooling, something like a Scythe Mugen 2, since it's cheap and an awesome performer.

We need a budget... though.

nice one Meti

yeah, we need a budget. also, what's the main use? Gaming? i'll assume so

that said, i'd go with an X4 955. maybe a Corsair TX650, and a Scythe Mugen 2 or better... and some HDD's. at least a TB (games these days take up a ton of space)

Well hopefully we can change that...

There's not really much to overclocking. I went from not overclocking ever, to overclocking every CPU I've ever had by at least 50%, and I'm actually not a very good/experienced overclocker at all.

The BIOS may look intimidating at first, but soon you'll know it like the back of your hand. (Assuming you look at your hands a lot.)

But remember: We can only show you the BIOS. You're the one who has to go in it.

So yeah... can we get a budget?

Overclocking with the AMD CPUs is easy, though. Just a multiplier bump or two (since their multi is unlocked, with them being Black Edition chips) and you will be at the same frequencies.

Great combo deal. Very reliable power supply. Case is top notch.
If you don't want the case, the PSU by itself is a good deal.

Also a good PSU/Case deal. If you need the extra power.

Try to get some DDR3 1600mhz memory

Go for a X4 955 C3 stepping as well.

Decent heatsink
