opinions on my cpu temp please

Thread Starter
I have my a64 3500+ venice running at 2.57GHz with 1.550 Vcore set in BIOS (runs a little higher than that usually like 1.56v-1.58v) and with my Tt Big Typhoon my idle temps are around 30C and load is at 43C. Its been like 6 weeks probably since I got the BT and installed it with AS5, but when I first installed it I was getting idle temps of 27C and load of 38C, after a while the temps are supposed to go down with AS5, not up. I know that my temps are under the danger level but do you think I should try reseating my HS and redoing my AS5?

You could try that but i dont think it's really worth it untill you want some more power out of it. My 3200+ venice runs 2.6ghz with 1.55vcore and i get a load temp of 39c and an idle of 26c with stock hsf and heatpad. It's probably just the differences in climate though. Goodluck with that processor man.

The crappy thing is that my processor is maxed out, any higher OC and it gets unstable so thats all I can get out of it. I'm kinda disappointed but oh well, it was my first build and my first attempt at overclocking so it was a good experiance anyways.

I have spent a lot of time on trying to get it better and fooled around with pretty much every setting i can think of but i'll give ya the info anyways.

RAM @ 2.5-3-2-5 (Maxes out at 237MHz stable)
@2-3-2-5 max is 207MHz stable
@3-2-3-5 max is 245-ish I think, been a while since I tried that one...
1T Timing (have tried both 1T and 2T, doesn't make any difference in overclockability for me)
HTT Freq: 4x
CPU Freq: 233 MHz
PCI-e Clock: 100MHz
DDR Voltage: 2.80v
CPU Voltage: 1.550v
Cool n' Quiet is Disabled

Attachment 18570

Attachment 18571

Kill those dust bunnies running around in the fins of your BT. Clean that out and you should notice a drop.

I dont have a can of compressed air to blow the dust out of between the fins and those things are pretty close together, but i took off the fan and cleaned off what i could, i did have a bunch of dust caked in there but after cleaning it off as best i could it didnt seem to make any difference in my temp at all. thanks for the suggestion, i didnt think it would get that dusty after only a month and a half but i guess i was wrong.

My computer fails prime95 after just 2 minutes at those settings Kitt3, and i wouldn't want to run at that anyways cuz it puts my ram down to 188MHz.
