Defective PSP?

Thread Starter
Well, i got my white psp and i think it might be defective. Sometimes when i start it up with a game inside and it loads the game and press Home and "yes" it says "please wait..." then it just turns off, it doesnt do this if i press home and "yes" right away". Only happens if i press home and then the game loads up (as in the game sounds load)

That sounds like it might be a software issue. Did you try upgrading the firmware? Does it happen in every game? When I played ridge racer, I noticed that if you put it to sleep during a race, there would be no music and you had to restart it. It only happened with that game though.

Do you really want to wait to send it back to sony? If you bought it at a local store I would go exchange it, otherwise it doesn't sound like something so bad that you would need to RMA it to the online store.
