Need some help here.

Well, my friend and I are getting new pc's soon. I know his will be better than mine but by how much... He keeps insisting he will be able to run everything on high on bf2 and he says I won't be able to. I'm telling him the ram makes a HUGE difference but hes not buying it. Here are the specs for both. Mine's first...

MINE
AMD 64 3200+
2gb pc3200 memory dual channel
x850xtpe possibly overclocked
biostar 939socket mobo
500w psu

HIS
AMD 64 3800+
1gb memory
7800gt
939socket mobo(dunno which 1)
probably a 500w psu

He keeps insisting his will completely blow mine the hell away. I really don't think it will besides the cpu/video card. How much better is a 7800gt from an x850xtpe. Also, how much better is an x850xt than a 6800gt? These cards are all pci-express x16 btw.

you both will run bf2 without any probs and his computer will be faster than yours but for most of the time you don't need 2gig ram often there is only needed 1 gig of ram. And his graphics card is a much faster card than yours and it will differ from game to game what performance difference you will get.

Get a x800 gto2 they unlock to a x850xtpe.
ANd yes you NEED 2 gigs of ram to run almost any new game on everything high.
At stock his will do better than yours by a good amount.
But if you overclock then it wont do that much better unless his 3800 is dual core then itll do a good amount better on dual core apps/games.

Tweak, I am already ahead of you. I have the gto2 in my closet along with my case, processor, and psu. I gotta wait for my dad to give me the ok to order the other parts. I plan on unlocking the gto2 to an x850xtpe and overclocking it. BTW Syk1 you need 2gb of ram to have everything on high including textures which take up the most fps. He doesnt have dual core btw. Thanks for the help.
