Question on overclocking

Thread Starter
okay so bought some new ram at 533 mhz to replace my 400mhz ones BUT when i install on my computer my computer can only overclock to 2.2 mgz, and before with old ram was 2.34 mhz. why is this? it freezes everytime i try to go over, but the display is still working and the fan goes up loud. what's the reason for this?
