Comp Hangs on Startup

Thread Starter
So I change a few settings in BIOS and it all works nicely and all that, restart and stuff no prob. HOWEVER when I shut it down at night and turn it on the day after, it hangs. Here are the settings

CPU Frequency Multiple: 13
CPU External Frequency: 166/33
Memory Frequency: Auto (max is 166MHz)
CPU Vcore: 1.7 V

AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Barton
512mb PC2700 DDR SDRAM

What am I doing wrong???

Even if I let it use the default 1.8 GHz settings it still hangs when I leave it off overnight. But when I turn it off, then on, it works fine.

Thanks!

PS: If you need other info just leme know.

could it be one of the hardware is failing? remove everything but the mb, cpu, and video card and see if it boots.

OH I forgot to mention...

when I force restart after it hangs, it takes me to the BIOS and tells me that it hanged due to improper external memory frequency...
