Yes, I have an intel 3.2 Ghz processor on one of my older computers, pretty much same arrangement as the one in your sig, and it's nowhere close to my other computer that I took back two weeks ago with a 4400+ AMD processor.

I want to see a screenie of the memory tab, because unless you are running 2x1gig sticks of ram, you might be running your ram very slowly.

Did you upgrade your bios aswell?
Also what pci-e slot do you have graphics card in as it can make a difference and Im 100% sure that cpu will knock that old one out of the water as its probably in the top10 out right now.

a8n sli deluxe mobo
x2 4400
2gb crucial ram
300gb diamond max 10 sata

and guess what...... its slower than my old p4 pressie system in every benchmark!!!! now even I know that something smells a tad fishy here, come on guys tell me I didn't throw my hard earned cash away, what am I missing??? (is there a turbo switch you amd guys aint tellin me about?)

okay time for some simple mathe,,, the X2 4400 that you bought runs stock at 2.2ghz,, if you do the generic AMD to intel conversion its about a 3.3ghz intel chip,,,,

now your stats show you running your old rig at 3.4ghz INTEL speed,,, so your in actuality running slower right now by a hair,,,,

However the minute you overclock you are going to blow it out of the water and if you run some floating arithmetic in Sandra you will see some huge improvements,,,,

Second make sure your ram timings are right and that you are running at optimal speeds, if it really is the first day of your build give it some time,,,,

the 4400 has a decent multiplyer and a nice fat 2mb cache so just give it some room to breath and start overclocking

Bingo bango, there's your problem.

If you are running the system with 4x512 sticks, it makes the ram run at 166. You have overclocked the FSB a little, raising it up, but still way under where it should be.

Pull two of the sticks, make sure the two remaining are running 1:1 and dual channel, then bench again.

why is your ram running only at 172,,, timings are very tight but you could probably loosen them up to 3-3-3-8 drop that multi to 10X for now and boot that thing at like 1:1 with maybe 265 and see if she primes,,,
