Opty 148 on which AGP board?

I'm shopping for a new mobo right now that will support my soon to come opty 148 and existing AGP 6800. This ASRock supports both AGP 8x and pci-e which would be a major bonus if the mobo is good for overclocking.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157081

Sooner or later i'll upgrade my 6800 and go pci-e so this mobo is perfect for my situation. What do you guys think? Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated..

it would probably be cheaper to upgrade your video card now and just get a pcie card.

get a 6800GS pcie card and a nf4 ultra mobo. You'll be happy. especially if you get a dfi board and oc your cpu

I have done some research on that board, as i was considering getting that same mobo myself. It is an excellent board even for gaming it is on par with a lot of the more expensive mobos. The AGP and PCI-X slots are not limited like some of the other agp/pci-x mobos. That is an execellent overall mobo, the only reason why I decided against it was because it is not a good overclocker and has very limited overclocking options. If i'm not mistaken the maximum vcore is only 1.45v which will limit you OC a lot unless you want to try a volt mod...

So if you want to do in-depth and high overclocking i would just recommend waiting to do a whole pci-x system swap.

Sad news, but ok. Guess I'll have to wait

That's correct. AGP + PCI-X and an AMD Opteron

I would go with a MSI neo Platinum 2...it uses the nvidia nf3 chipset. Good board and can be had for a good price on ebay.

Would this be a good board for overclocking as well (voltages, unlocked bios, etc)? I dont know much about chipsets on mobos so does anyone know what has changed from nf3 to nf4? Would I be missing out on performance enhancements by going with an older chipset?
