Unlocking SOYO motherboard

Thread Starter
Alright, I know I'm probably the only sucker in the world with my mobo, but does anyone know if SOYO has a generic set of keystrokes that enables an unlocked BIOS mode? One that has more OC options? The mobo is an SY-KT600 Dragon Plus v2.0 and, like the name implies, is a KT600 mobo. I think the chip is an American Megatrends BIOS chip, but I'm not sure.

No sure ...
But the options are usually in the "Advanced Chip Set" section.
You need to find the one that is lit up and says Default or Auto and it should have an option to change to something like User, Advanced, or Expert.

Ive got a Kt600 dragon too dude, but its a Soyo Kt600 Dragon Plus (not 2.0). These boards really aren't half bad dude, the only problem I have is that they dont seem to have the option to adjust Vcore/Ram voltages.

If there was such a keystrokes to "unlock" the bios, I'd sure be intersted too.

BTW, can your board do that ????

the soyo boards are not made for overclocking due to the fact that it does not have a locked pci/agp buss. trust ive been there and done that and got the teeshirt. .. leave it stock or get another board with an nforce chipset

yes you definatly dont want to overclock if you cannot lock the PCi/AGP bus as it can cause damage to other components

You can overclock it. Just not as far as a nforce board. Being a KT600, it probably has dipswitches to set the fsb to 200 mhz. The latest bios should give you a divider of 6 to keep the agp/pci buss at 66/33 mhz at 200mhz fsb.

Indeed many of the older VIA boards have the JUMPER to switch the FSB from 100/166/200...be prepared for some reboots and CMOS clearing though !
