fx60 or x2 4800 ( OK I read all ur alls post Now what u think) - Page 3

Just thought I'd add, I've had both the 4800, and FX60, and will soon have another 4800. There wasn't any noticeable difference; for me, at least. I mean in benchmarks, there was a bit of a difference, but that wasn't a cornucopiously (Did I just make up that word? ) large difference either.

Why does everyone keep mentioning the L2 cache; I thought they both had the same L2 cache...

Is the components I picked not quality stuff then just wondering

I think they got confused since I said it had a larger L1 cache, which I thought it did but I remember looking on newegg and seeing that the 4400+ and 4800+ Toledos also had 128k+128k of L1 so I think it is actually the same......

Just thought I'd say that if you don't mind ATI, in 3 days they are releasing their X1900XT and X1900XTX (and X1900CF master card) and it will be a hard launch meaning you can buy them that day, XT will cost $550 and XTX will cost $650 so they are less than the 512MB 7800GTXes and both the XT and XTX will have 512MB of GDDR3 at ~700MHz and 625/650MHz cores respectively, and from the benches I have seen, they destroy the 256MB GTX, haven't seen it compared to the 512MB yet.

But then I heard the 7900 would come out and beat the X1900 series...at least is 3Dmark 05...

here's a link that shows benchmarks for the fx60 4800+ fx57 fx55 and the 840 after a quick glance through if you were planning on gaming only i'd go with the fx57 wonder why in a gamers point of view they put out a slower chip for a upgrade here's the link http://amdzone.com/modules.php?op=mo...page&artid=222
