Why would a 3700+ bottleneck two 7800GT's in SLI? I've seen test rigs on Tom's Hardware and Anandtech running 3700+ with SLI and they have gotten excellent results. This whole bottleneck issue is really irritating because no one that mentions it can ever back it up with hard data. I ran two 6600Gt's in SLi flawlessly on a 3700+ (and still do) and look forward to getting my second 7800GT shortly for SLI on my 4000+.

Go SLI

I highly doubt 2 GT's would bottleneck my processor at it's current setting. Most test rigs use FX-55's and mine thinks it's a FX-53 (at the moment)

Well seeing how I might be getting more money for my stuff, thanks to eBay...I might be able to swing both...I already sent out the money for the Case but there's a possibility that I can get another GT as well...I might crack and use some of my own cash as well

I'll know in a few weeks if another card is possible since I'm probably working for spring break to get some extra cash

So I might get the best of both worlds

No dont go SLI in my opinion gator. I would wait till the X1900s and the G71s come out (so they are readily available) and the prices will drop way down on the cards you are thinking about getting. Once the price goes down I would say you should not even buy another gfx card or just use the step up program. besides why do u need another card at the moment. it can play everything max

Yeah but you know with those spur of the moment kind of things it sounds good at the time but you never really know for sure....thinking about it some more, I'd have to get another GPU waterblock, piping and connectors for hte WC setup...so either doing the step up program or just keeping it wouldn't be all that bad

The thing is eVGA never has any GTX's in stock for the step-up they are alwasy on Backorder

GatorLCA I just put a check in the mail for him as well today for one of the cases drives and sound card. Seemd like a great deal and a very nice case with water cooling. I would also like to get one of the Video cards before he removes the water block the will be coming with the case. I have a BFG 6800gt oc but I don't know if his are PCI-E like I have now. Not sure if you talked to him about this
