SBLive! or on-board sound ???

Thread Starter
I have a SoundBlaster Live! Value which I think is blocking the air to get to my OC-ed X800GTO. Should I remove it an switch to the on-board 8-channel chip? The sound quality will be drastically affected and the differece will be noticeable ??? Thanks !

Depends on the chipset.

Some games have a hard time with the AC'97, and you may take a performance hit.

If it were me I would keep the SB. I put my SB in the very bottom PCI slot (But if you only have 2 that's not very far from the Video Adapter).
