going over 1000 on the HTT

Thread Starter
what happens when you exceed the HTT 1000 limit on 939s?

I've heard you can corrupt the harddrive, what else?

Its just usually an unstable bus speed with no real benefit. You sometimes can make it past 1000 (2000) but not by much, except with this DFI board that lets 2000+ stable.

If you want your computer to be stable then keep it at, or right below 1000.

So the bus speed is normally set 5X the set speed, example: 210mhz. Correct? So you just have to change the multiplier back a bit right? Maybe that's something I should try.

It all depends on the mobo really. Some can handle higher than 1000 with no problem.
Very nice!

Yeah, I've been running an overclock of 2.6GHz on my AMD 64 3200+ (stock 2.0Ghz) and it's stable, and I didn't change the bus mutiplier, so I think that's still at 5X 260mhz. I have an ABit AV8 Mobo. I'll try to remember to double check that setting to be sure though.

The default might be 4X

I just checked and my LTD Bus Frequency is set to 5X FSB!!!! That's 1.3Ghz at 2.6Ghz CPU speed!! But maybe if I set that to 4X I could get a more stable high overclock. Also, just wondering, what's the best frequency to set AGP and PCI speed? I have mine set at the highest, 74mhz/37mhz.
lower your HTT to x4. As far as your AGP/PCI, you want those at default, I would not raise them at all, instability can occur..

Uhh.. Haveing them higher than 33/66 is really bad. If you dont want to fry/become instable then set them down.
