Not to bring up an old topic but that was exactly when I thought when I saw the i7 750 and 860 benches - that the classy board I bought before they came out was dumb unless I was looking for full tri sli or fire.

I just did my own comparitive benchmarks to see firsthand for myself. Here's what my quick test produced:

Dual channel: 19.47 Gb/s
Triple Channel: 26.28 Gb/s

(Please keep in mind these are synthetic benchmarks)

I realise that you've probably been posed this question plenty of time and are quite sick of it but..........

Is 8gb dual channel at 1600mhz better than 6gb triple channel at 1600mhz?

Just got a new ga ex58a ud3r and i7 930.

Mostly gonna be using this for audio work with DAW's and programming and some tracking also

With the price of 2x4Gb kits falling to around $30, I've seen a lot of people posting about dual vs tri-channel. So i thought I would bring this to the top.
