Overclock Question

Thread Starter
Can you unlock a Athlon 64 like you do an Athlon XP? The only way I know of is to move the FSB. Ive seen amazing clockspeeds on the Athlon 64 3000 (754) that i know cant be doen just by bumping up the FSB.

you cannot unlock (increase) athlon64 multipliers. The only ones that come unlocked are the FX series chips.
The 3000+ newcastle chip isn't a good OC'r...be happy to get to 2.4 with high volts. If you have the 3000+ venice, then you could expect 2.6-2.8 on your 754 setup.
My last 3000+ NC needed almost 1.65v to get to 2.4 ;(
