[Windows 7] Setting up the SMP client (v6.34) - Page 108

hum...i have a question:

I prefer setting my SMP client with the flags options when i run the "fah.exe -configonly" for example.

In you guide u instruct us different, but i guess its the same in the end?

Another question, when i ran the -configonly i set as "yes" for -advmethods
and on the additional flags -verbosity 9 -smp -bigadv

However in this guide it says to leave "no" for -advmethods, correct? Why is that? what is the difference if i say no or yes for -advmethods?

Yeah, either way to add the flags works.

And the reason I say to turn off -advmethods when Folding -bigadv, is because PG have said they might intefere with each other, and you might not get -bigadv WUs.

oooooooooooooo i didnt know that, just ran -configonly now and said "no" to -advmethods and the total PPD increased in HFM.net now

It is still folding the same WU though, and it was already an A3 WU, specifically the GRO-A3 P6900

How can do u always reply so quick Zodac? Robot skills? lol i love it!

hahahah alright! usually when i post here, it gets answered in no time
Love ocn!

i think there was definitely something wrong with the settings for my SMP, before with "yes" for -advmethods it was giving me an estimate of 2K and little more PPD for the i7 920 d0 with 6GB of ram.

Now it has increased to 14.5K PPD on it should be going better now i hope, will keep you updated Zodac, thnks again!

In the other hand, my gtx260 still rocking 10K ppd day hahahahhaha 65nm version even hahahhhahah just love that many fermi's still dont get really there

Grats. One question though. Did you fold those ten work units with the pass key that you got from Stanford setup in your SMP clients configuration? If you don't know what I am talking about then you probably didn't and that's a bad thing.

The client itself is working fine; just HFM a bit off.

Is that "c:\\users\\cheapy|folding\\" in the bottom left corner? Replace "|" with "\\" and all should be well.
