now we CAN solve ur problem
this is the method i have tried and have been trying for a while. Overclock mode is set to manual,. NOS is disabled, and i am manually OCing my FSB and memory frequency but still it doesnt work. I really dont know whats going on

in this case...check in ur mobo manual if there is a jumper to enable and disable the jumper free setting...if there is then u have to enable the jumper so that u can manually set ur fsb and other stuff using the jumperfree option on the bios...

let me know whether there is one or no...

The jumpers section in the manual just mentions 2 jumpers.

I have tried the manual FSB option - i have tried 801FSB all the way up 85FSB yet it remains at 200FSB in CPU-Z - although in the BIOS it reports that the CPU frequency increases as does the FSB. its really baffling me

Is it possible that CPU-z is not reading it properly...

Do you have AI booster installed? If not...try this.
1...Install AI Booster from the cd.
2...Set your overclock in bios(remember to set everything to manual) and set the speed to 1 mhz less than you want(249 for 250...like that) then boot up. After booting...open AI Booster and raise the fsb by 1 mhz. I had to do that with 1 set of bios I had. Also be sure to get the latest(0905) bios.

i thought AI booster was the problem? I have just checked my FSB speed with Sandra - and it still reports 200FSB

EDIT installed Ai booster and had a mess around - i can change my FSB speed by using the Ai booster, and CPU-Z reports that the change has taken place - yay!!!!!

So do i have to use Ai booster all the time now to OC???

EDIT2: come across a problem. Even though Ai Booster is reporting the change in the CPU frequency, CPU-Z is showing that the FSB has increased, but the core speed keeps fluctuating from 2900Mhz to 3900Mhz ?????
