'Roomy' mid-tower or full tower case recommendation

Thread Starter
I currently have a crummy and crazy-crammed generic mid tower case that is about 7+ years old and I am looking to upgrade to a nice roomy mid-tower case or full tower case (needs to have room for 5 hard drives). I currently have this one at work and it is quite nice, but perhaps a little pricey for my home and even a little large, so I was hoping to get a recommendation on a similar one that is perhaps $50 or so cheaper (looking to spend about $150ish max with shipping and taxes [Canadian, Toronto area]). All I need is the case, no power supply or anything else.

I see in another thread in that this case is on sale, along with this one as well, and seems to have inexpensive shipping too, hmm...

I'm definitely looking for better airflow with my current hardware... my current mid-tower case is just way too crammed and the new Radeon 5850 that I bought yesterday is running pretty hot idle...

Edit: Arrghh, those sales are on the US newegg.com site, not Canadian newegg.ca site, hmmm... really sucks being a Canadian sometimes lol...

If you don't mind getting a refurbished case, you can get one from the CoolerMaster store. I was able to get a HAF922 - for $79.99 and free shipping. ****Edit

EDIT: the 922 was removed....they do have a 932 on there for $109

They also have other cases there that is refurbished as well.

My case had all of the instructions/parts and looked brand new. No scratches or dents.

Hope this helps.

the HAF 922 is the smaller brother to the HAF 932.

Also 2 other great cases are the CM 690 II and the CM Storm Scout.

Not a bad idea, but I fear it might be tough from Canada.

I just found a local store that is selling the HAF 922 for $99 CDN. The Antec Nine Hundred Two is on for $109 ($30 off) but is not in stock at the location in town, only their other locations about 40 minutes away, so I think I'll just go with the familiar HAF 922 (I have the HAF 932 full tower at work that I got about 2 months ago and love it). I think I'll pickup a bunch of extra fans for the optional slots too.

Man cases have sure come a long way since my previous case purchase about 7 or 8 years ago lol... amazing.

I'll second the Haf 922 or 932, they are INCREDIBLE cases, my stock 5850 idles at 28C, the airflow in these things are just amazing (I have the 932, btw).

I have the Antec 900. It has the same orientation of Hard drives as the Antec 902 and I will say with your video card it will be cramped with 5 hard drives in it. I had 3 hard drives in mine and it was too cramped for my liking that I ended up only keeping 2 hard drives in it.

The space between the hard drives and the video card was really tight. I suggest going with a case where it mounts the hard drives sideways like the CM 690 and Storm Scout do.

Cool I'll try to find a video review of those two, but hmm, damn, they are out of stock in the local store as well. I'd imagine the HAF 922 is likely better anyways eh?

Awesome advice, thanks man. I think I'll definitely go with the HAF 922 since it mounts sideways like the HAF 932 I have at work.

Gonna likely go pickup this case during my lunch break. Just gotta figure out what size fans I need now for the optional slots. I'm purchasing from www.canadacomputers.com - the Barrie location

Do not count out the Lancool PC-K62. It's a solid case, and it being tooless is nice as well.

Not bad not bad I ended up going with the CM HAF 922 though, just picked it up locally as it was in stock. Everything else suggested here seems to be out of stock lol... new store, just opened a few months ago, but they have tons of other locations in the Greater Toronto Area, and they finally expanded to Barrie, yay!

Thanks again everyone for your help.
