Abit av8 questions

Got a few questions reguarding my motherboard the av8...

1. in the uguru user manual it states you can change the voltage to the agp slot.is this a way of increasing the voltage going to the core to be able to overclock the video card higher?

2.Ive read that you can lower the multiplier on the a64 cpu in bios but mines locked (or seems to be) is there a way to lower it or is it only done by the htt? im old school 1800xp stuff for me so this is a little new but not alot.

thanks

1. Yes
2. Yes they can be lowered... you may have to expose the option in the BIOS... Usually in the Advanced Chipset sectionyou have to change from "AUTO" to Expert, Advanced, user or something like that to get the option to change the multiplyer, voltages, HTT etc...

Yes you can change it all in the bios. I have the same MB. You will need to do a bios up date on the MB if you just got it. There was some problems with the first few bios on the MB

ok i feel stupid about the multiplier question now!! i was using my up and down arrows like everything else you use it for after you select it and it did nothing..I guess i should read the directions on the bottom of the screen it says to use the page up and down keys to change the value...lmao

so changing the voltage to the agp does that offer any more in OCing at all or is it even worth it?

I've been told it doesn’t make a ton of difference. For me the possible instability vs. the gain isn't enough.
