Yes I have done a different type of Volt Mod on GPU, (not the standard volt-mod), AND I've add a Capacitor on the PCB (Simple and very important mod for stability) PLUS I add Heatsink on VRM and on the RAM.
I did not do RAM volt mod because the Hynix chip is overheating even at default voltage.
Card is cooled with an Arctic Accelero S1 Rev.2 + Arctic F12 120x120x25 FAN. The core at 1066MHz@1,32v is Rock Solid stable and reach a max temperature of only 48° on most games, only with Crysis reach 52°.
An important tips:
If your RAM is manufactured by Hynix, remember this chip absolutely need heatsink cooling! The Hynix chip, if Overclocked at 1350MHz without any heatsink, can reach about 85° temp !!!
After cooling RAM chip properly My card bench at Unigine DX9 with RAM at 1490MHz
Unfortunaley, for daily use I can set up Max 1420MHz on RAM because I've one chip that overheating more than other (Because Is not reached by the Air of my case FAN
Performance is very well:
4970 on Furmark 1.7 1280x1024 without A.A. (60second time)
1228 on UNIGINE DX9 1280x1024 with AA4x AF16x and Shaders=High
More than 11.000 on GPU scores on 3DMark Vantage
on Crysis Bench tool, with the 5750 at stock frequencies, I've got 51 FPS
after the Overclock the FPS become 68, It's 17 more FPS than default.Edited by Matthew_81 - 3/19/10 at 3:15pm
