HD 5750 Club - Page 71

Just installed a Zalman VF1000 cooler on my Powercolor 1Gb 5750 card. It can now run stable at 940/1350. Max temp under Furmark = 90c.
With stock cooler it could reach 100c even with default clocks.

What temps do you get with VF900?

Wow, my Vapor-x tops out at 76C in Furmark with extreme burning mode on @970/1350. I think the fan is at like 65-70 percent at 76C. I'm glad I got the vapor-x. It was between the vapor-x 5750 and a vanilla Sapphire 5770.

It's mounted fine. I remounted the stock cooler many times and tried different thermal compounds and it still got up to 110C under Furmark. I have no idea why it gets hotter than most 5750 GPUs.

not so good temps. try better case flow. 90c is high, but not scary high.

I think I found out the reason why the temps are so high. I measured the GPU voltage with a multimeter and guess what:
Vgpu in 2D = 1.2v
Vgpu in 3D = 1.25v

Voltage is not the reason . Maybe bad chip or something else. You have good cooler and voltage cant cause of so high temp.

^^ great voltages for overclocking though

If I was you, I would rewire your whole case for some good cable management, add some grills on the spare PCI slots, and perhaps add a pci slot cooler. Seriously think about cutting some 120mm holes for some more intake (bottom, side, and front) and exhaust fans (top and rear). Drill a few holes for cable management while you are at it. You got to let that GPU breathe! You have an epic GPU cooler, but it looks like it is only being fed hot stale air because of the cluster#%@$ of cables and other things around it.
