Buy or wait

Okay, I was reading through a PC Gamer magazine today and I saw that Flight Simulator X will run on DX10 when it and Vista come out. I am thinking about getting a 7800GT now. Should I wait until DX10 cards are out? Another thought, would it be worth it to get a 7800GT? How many more fps would I get from a 7800GT than a 6800GS unlocked? Wouldn't it just be about 5 or so with the CPU bottleneck?

I would if you really want that game. DX10 will not be compatible with older cards from what I remember.

You'll be fine with a 3200+ for a GT, I think thats the minimum though, but if you OC it a little it'll be ok.

As far as waiting, idk....if you think about it to get Vista, a DX 10 card, and Flight Sim, you're looking at probably close to $600-$1K, depending on the version of Vista and Card you get, which no one is going to buy a bottom line card.

I'd say buy now and have fun with the games that come out, a 6800GS will be fine for your needs, but if you can afford to get a GT, I'd say get it.

EDIT: Flight Sim X will work with DX 9 cards

Flight Simulator X will still work on DirectX 9... no question about that.

Thanks, guys.
By the way, I can't overclock.
By the way again, I was pretty sure FSX would run with DX10, I was just wondering if y'all thought that it would be better to wait since I can't afford to get a video card every couple of months.

Cant overclock!?!?! Overclock is for Everyone!!! DOO ITTT.

Just get the card now, dx10 isnt for a while. If you wait, you will wait forever since these card companies are outdoing each other every 3 months.

I'm thinking about doing it this weekend or something (ordering the card) but as for not OC'ing, I would love to but there are no OCing options in my BIOS that work.
