What drivers are you running?

So, you got me wondering if something was wrong with my rig. So I updated to the 10.3's, and wow ... that must be what you're running. Now I'm seeing what I was expecting, which was to slightly beat your gpu score w/my rig at 925/1225 (mainly because my i7 and higher memory overclock should be enough to overcome your core clock advantage).
Looking at my 10.3 results vs. my 10.2 results, I'm surprised this whole forum isn't doing backflips over the 10.3 drivers. I mean, this is literally the biggest gain from a single driver update I've ever seen (and I've been doing this whole thing a LOOOONG time).
These 10.3 drivers give like a +8.7% increase in performance. It's actually pretty amazing. Mostly it seems like its the max frames that are really going up, but still ... cool stuff.

brett - yes i am running 10.3's. and yes, like you said, they're amazing! i did comparison later that day with the 10.2's and didnt even care if my score was solid w/ the 10.3's bc it gave me such a boost already! haha

Yup, eric's overall score is higher because his cpu score is significantly higher, and CPU score is part of the overall score. As you can see, his gfx score is lower, as would be expected based on his gpu clocks being lower.
Frankly though I'm a little surprised that your i5@4.0 would be that far behind his i7@4.2.

Xeon doesn't mean it's faster at the same clocks as a regular i7. It's basically a server-grade i7 chip with better warranty. Sometimes they'll overclock higher, but not always.
