Conroe, will it be compatible with the nF4 Intel Edition? - Page 3

Can you site sources for that April target date? Everything I have seen says Q3, specifically July.

Yiffy, March was my timeframe for my new AMD AM2 build but it looks like the only upgrade I get in March will be a 7900GTX and maybe 2GB of DDR2-667 and if I'm really lucky, a pair of WD Raptor X's in RAID 0, but probably not the Raptors

By the way, how much of a bottleneck will my P4 530 be on dual 7900GTXs in SLI? (lol)

Those who purchase Conroe in it's most early iteration are not going to be as pleased as those who will wait for the third stepping of this piece of silicon.

Intel has traditionally had problems with errata on early steppings.

I have tested X1900XT vs dual 7800GTX's(512) and the 7800's beat the X1900XT in gamefeel on both Quake4 and F.E.A.R. (1600 X 1200). Canned benchmarks do NOT equalize to real gameplay and that is the reason for these forums.

There are those who are willing to step out and pay the price for the silicon to test it and others can benefit from that testing.

The X1900XT is also loud as hell although when in 1600 X 1200 there is a difference in AA between these two setups. However, I do NOT stop in gameplay to look at leaves etc and admire the minimal differences but they are there. The 7800GTX(512)'s are quieter even with the pair of them.
