Bend pin back by using a .5MM pencil. Take all the lead out, and the pin fits easily into the hole. Just be careful not to overbend it, it's better to underbend it, and have to bend it more THE SAME WAY than to bend it back again. Also, sometimes TIM will come off after you run the computer for about 45 minutes full load (use prime95 or cpu burn). When it gets warm, the TIM gets thinner.

The best thing you can probably do is to twist it off by holding the board with one hand and the heatsink in the other. Just make sure that if/when it pops off it doesn't fall on a hard surface and bend a whole bunch of pins! That happened to me once and it sucks having to bend back like 40 pins, but at least it worked. Also you might try heating it with a hair dryer to soften the paste.

Yeah, happened to me once. Just twist the CPU off the heatsink, don't worry about it. It will be fine. Happened to me when I was taking my friends P4 2.4GHz 478 Dell rig appart. I put the CPU back in with some fresh AS5, and everything worked great,

easiest way i found to straighten pins is to run a peice of plastic or kitchen knife down the rows to keep them all in the same row/coloumn(sp) just gotta make sure u dont hit the base and stratch it. ive had numerous cpu heatsinks do that mostly with dell's i took apart
