You think adding a cpu duct to the side panel would obstruct air flow in the case?

no way if anything it would add more room temp to the cpu if thats what your are planning on doing? I know sunbeam has it and I was pretty interested in getting it. the only way I see this as bad is if your room temp was hotter then inside your case cause then your would be getting hotter air to the cpu.

anyways go to http://www.sunbeamtech.com/

and check out there cooling section/overclocking cool kit. they have some setups that should be interesting.

I beg to differ. I have a thermostat in my room and use speedfan for my case temps. Whenever my room temp goes up 3c my case temps go up 3c. My case temps and room temps are usually 2-3c apart. Although Abit motherboards are known for their over reading of their temps. Therefore, my case temp and room temp are about the same.

well like I said barly but I guess 3c can mean the difference between borderline and overheating. Though honestly I never had that problem, not to represent a single company but I have 5 MASSCOOL 80mm fans and they push some serious air (37.87cfm each)

room temp adversly affect case temps...lol its inevitable, where do you think the case sucks the air in from? THE ROOM, so if the room has warm air, the case is just sucking in warm air... at night my case/cpu run about 6c lower because when i go to bed i turn the heat down...

so then it would be safe to say that if my case temp is truly only 2-3c more than my room temp, a duct would not make much difference accept maybe a 2-3c decrease in cpu temp since i would be bypassing the case all together. Right?

ya pretty much... but that 2-3c lower! any decreas in temps is good, but if its not really needed then you should waste a few $ on the kit and try to build it out of things found at home... but its up to you, if you want the lower temps go for it...
