If it came broken out of the box then just send it back, on the other hand if that was damaged what else is there that you havent noticed that could be damaged, I dont understand how something like that can happen, they are packed well enough I would think, was the box damaged at all upon delivery? The parts are readily available if you wish to fix it, the cost of 2 new capacitors is very minimal and you will be able to get them at any electronics store.

yea, the box had like two corners ripped open. I was thinking, the cost of fixing it would be cheaper than the shipping fees since i live in Canada...

in that case, I'll see what I can do to fix it first...then go for my other options if plan A fails.

just solder it so that the wires have a connection and so the solders not touching anything but the two wires.. the inside is probably not damaged (it takes a lot to damage it) i would suggest doing it yourself.. but thats just me.. if you mess up remove the evidence and RMA it =] .. or just get another, but its alwasy good to try new stuff. -trey

yeah, because if you dont soder it your only other option is to RMA it , sooo might as well get some sodering practice, and if you mess up, just RMA it like you would have anyways.. and all you have to say is "oh well i tried, ***** happens. "-trey

So, I tried soldering it, but upon soldering it, I noticed that the little wire from the capacitor was too short to solder.. T_T Now, I'll have to go out and find myself some capacitors...hope its not hard. By the way, I noticed this when soldering the motherboard..doesn't look so good.

Whats that thing with the gel-like stuff covered? That gel is hard and I think something leaked...will it affect the functionality of the motherboard?
