Yes, CPU-Z will tell you what kind of 2.4 it is. Just look for 1 MB L2 Cache and Prescott Core.
Uh, Intel locks the multi via a laser cut, so no, no droping the multi...

well, when you pass 4.15 do let me know.. I got it to 3.96 stable, and 4.15 semi stable..

in CPU-Z, does it say under Revision: C0 or D0? (This is your stepping)

I believe that the newer D0 overclocks better, but the C0 is still awesome.

Hey guys, I have the same CPU. If I was wanting to overclock to 3GhZ or maybe more, and stay around 40-50 degrees, what kind of fan or cooling should I invest in? Sorry if I'm throwing the thread off topic

It all depends on the chip. So far, the best I've heard was 2.4A, but if you're thinking about major upgrade in the near future, don't buy it. More of a budget performance chip, the 2.4A

Pink Floyd...rock on!

Back on subject....I just ordered an XP-90 with a Panaflow fan...I'm hoping for the seal of approval...can't go wrong for $44 CAN including a fan.
