Shader Clock not visible in Rivatuner (196.21)

Thread Starter
I have followed the downclocking tutorial installed graphics drivers twice and completely re installed rivatuner twice.

What the hell is wrong with my card?

I can force performance 3D change fan and Memory and Core but not Shader?

Thanks in advance

Stupid question: But I'm brilliant at asking them!!!

You've tried the beta 196.34's, right?
This aint solely on the .21's?

While I know that EVGA Precision and MSI Afterburner had a patch to workaround 196.21's "inability to overclock bug", as far as I was aware, there is no workaround for RTuner for the 196.21's, and even forcing clocks, you still can't work the shaders.

You need to install a different driver.

Rivatuner only has basic support for up to 190.62 as far as I can discern. You can use newer Forceware than that but you need to configure it in Power User.

Yeah, there were workarounds that Unwinder gave for the few post 190.62, but the latest version (2.24c) doesn't have problems on the -very- latest drivers, no workarounds seem to be required on the few 19X.XX that I've tried so far (196.34+196.86+196.75), just comes up with that "Riva Tumer has not been blahblah'd with this version yet, upgrade blahblah", just tell it not to show again 'til you install new drivers and you can clock away.

But 196.21 is a no-go for RT.

What happens if you try it using Precision?

If you get EVGA Precision it solves this issue.

Did you make sure you get this version of Precision?:- http://www.geeks3d.com/20100122/evga...21-workaround/

Personally, I'd just install different Drivers, 196.21 aint the drivers you want if you wanna OC really. Even with the workarounds, I just wouldn't bother keeping them.

So the ones below .21 are OK?

You should be fine with below 196.21 (195.62 is the next WHQL below), and even the 196.34 BETA is perfectly fine to use aswell. http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_wi...6.34_beta.html
