Got my Big Typhoon but now it won't fit!

I just got my Big Typhoon today and was concerned about the height of that monster. Well, it turns out my fears in that department were unwarranted, since I have plenty of clearance between the fan and the side panel.

However, I got another nasty surprise -- the position of the CPU on my Gigabyte motherboard is very near the top. So near, in fact, that the BT won't fit due to the power supply that is mounted in the top.

This is a killer for me because the BT and (and the cases fans that are on their way) blew the last of my budget. So now I have to figure out a way to make this work without blowing 50+ bucks.

My fear with just buying a new case online is that I'll run into the same issue. Is there some way to figure out how the mobo will sit by just reading the description? Would getting a "full ATX" instead of the mid-Tower I now have solve my problem? And while I'm asking, what's the difference between a mid-Tower and a mini-Tower?

For example: I found this case at newegg:

So how do I know if this will work or if I'll just be back in the same boat?

It would definitely fit in a full tower. To figure out how your mobo will sit in the case requires a bit of educated guessing. If you really want to figure it out, get a streight on shot of the back where the I/O shield is going to go. i can;t thing of the actual dimensions off the top of my head, but i know all IO shields have the same size and the power supplies have to be under a certain height to meet ATX spec, and the screw holse need to be in the same place for the PSU as well. Print out a pic of the rear of the case and do some ratios.

Measure the hole how it appears on the printout. now measure the actual size of I/O hole. Divide the smaller one into the larger one. You now have the number you need to multiply the small measurement by to equal the large measurement. Now measure distance on picture from I/O hole to PSU mounting hole. Now, insert the number you got from the first calculation. Get a greater distance from the PSU than your old case, and you should be good to go.

I'm sorry if i made that sound harder than it is, cause it really isn;t. When it comes to math, i';m good at it, but i suck at explaining.

Oh, and BTW ATX spec can be found here
