By all accounts of people testing the RC version, they are liking it. Starting tomorrow, everyone will be able to try 7 out for a year free, so you can test it then. There are a couple news threads about it for more information.

I have been out of action since Thursday,
I was testing a used video card that I had recently purchased when my system hung; I did a restart and was unable to reenter WinXP.
I tried the repair consul but could not get past the pass word screen now I get a BSOD for a Reg. error when I try to access the disk via the repair counsel, I have since installed windows on to a second drive and can access my other drive from here, I can even play the games that are installed on to this drive but I still can not get past the BSOD with the repair counsel

I am back up, I formatted my win7 partition and reinstalled winXP to it.
I now have my Killa watt meter hooked up to my PC, when I am not gaming or folding
my system draws about 180 to 190 watts, while doing anything that ramps up my GPU
like folding the watts shot up to 380, mind you I have 2 HDD. 1 D4 water pump
1 250mm fan and 3 120 mm fans.

The cause of the XP issue was I had inadvertently unplug my water pump when putting my defective VGA card in for testing and when I booted up my CPU temps went through the roof
I immediately shut the computer down via the switch on the PSU after I plugged the pump back in
I could no longer get in to windows, it was ether this or the DOA card

Go figure..well it comes in handy speaking with you...I saw your reference to Kill a watt, never heard of it, looked into it and just ordered one. Sounds like a handy device, sure be nice to put a cost to some of my ancient appliances. Although it probably would be best if I didn't let my wife use it on my PC, could cause problems.

Could is to light of a word for this use.
My wife asked why I thought our power bill was so high of late and me not having a Twix at hand opened my mouth and explained how much power my GTX 285 pulls when folding, like it was a point of pride or something.
Now I have this meter and I am starting to wonder if it is my video card or may be
PG&E got an increase in their rate.

I am writing all this with Ubuntu I just installed it along side WinXP, wana see how well it CPU folds.

Or is it summer time and everyone is dialing back on folding due to the large amount of heat most of our machines generate ?
