OC P4 3.0E on Asus P4P800 SE mobo

Thread Starter
i have overclocked my p4 3.0E to 3.45 ghz stable but i think that my ram is running at a lower frequency. i ran sis sandra 2005 memory test and in the results the memory speed was at 2x 133MHz (266MHz data rate) im using geil 2 x 512mb ddr 400 dual channel kit the timing 2.5-4-4-8. is the speed low and if it is how do i increase the speed.

Yo have to get better ram, because your ram can only go 220 and your pushing it way to far so a divider had to be put in. Get some 4200 ram or high, its worth it if you want to clock more

Before investing in new RAM, try increasing the voltage to the RAM (vdimm) a notch or two and loosening the timings a bit. If the stock timings are 2.5-4-4-8, you probably won't be able to OC very far at 1:1, but I would expect at least a little OC out of it.

the best i got out of the ram as i have almost the same setup as you is ....
2-3-3-6..set the bios speed to 320mhz and set the vdim to 2.75...you should be at 204...best out of that ram at 3.8...you might get a little higher because of your lower CPU speed..

As long as your temps are good, you can continue to push it. Just make sure to keep the load temp at or below 65°C, and the lower, the better.

I would suggest not OCing any further until you invest in some good aftermarket cooling.
