Got my new Opty! - Page 3

hey, I was messing around with an OC today and this is what I came up with:

w/ my ltd bus multi at 3x and my RAM on a dividor my processor will do 250x11 at stock volts. So I put the ltd at 4x gave the chipset a small boost in voltage, gave my RAM a small bost in voltage and tried to run it on a 1:1 ratio.

so,
cpu multi 11x
vcore 1.425
ltd 4x
RAM 1:1 2.5-3-3-8 (It can do DDR500 @ 2.5-3-3-7 easy)

but when I put everything together my system isn't stable... independtly it is, RAM passes memtest, cpu primes and runs super pi 32m no probs... but w/ everything all together it's not prime stable... what's up?

The Expert and TCCD do not play well and so you will need to look at the Genie settings.

If the CPU can do 250x11 stable with the mem on a divider then again look at mem timings plus also you may need to check Vcore a wee bit.

well I'm in the process of trying to figure out if I can get some different RAM. I bought this RAM specifically for my Asus board... and it worked wonders there... but I'm nto sure if it was my cpu or board that was keeping me at 2.6...

but anywho... if my RAM passes memtest why isn't it stable in windows? yeah, I know windows and memtest are different, but it just seems like this RAM should just work... it'll do DDR580 w/ the same timings I was trying them at DDR500... I think part of my problem is that I'm just not familar w/ the DFI bios... ocing on the Asus board was so much easier... I didn't get the OC I wanted, that's why I went DFI... but yeah

Have you worked through the settings in GENI as per this previous post?

http://www.overclock.net/713528-post21.html

2T maybe required for the higher speed settings.... something to try out.

no, I was running 1T... maybe I'll try 2T

I switched the command rate to 2T

I did notice something else though... i found the sheet that had all the timings for my Asus board

here are all the other timings that I've never messed w/ cause I don't really know what they do:
Trc 11T
Trfc 14T
Trwt 5T
Twr 3T
That's all the other timing options my Asus board had... a total of about half what the DFI does.

yeah, I'm pretty sure the voltages are fine that's just the way motherboard monitor reads them.... I haven't finished configuring it to read everything correctly. Yesterday it was giving me alarms that my gpu was overheating and the drivers were reading it at about 15 degrees less... also I can't seem to get the cpu fan to read correctly.

but yeah, the voltages read much closer on my Asus board and if I check them in the bios they read better too. I'll need to get my hands on a multimeter one of these days... but until then I'll just have to trust my seasonic I guess
