Once unlocked they will change from 560 to B50. You can't buy a B50.

Whoa, cool beans, 1000 posts.

Another member here. Bought my X2 550BE back in July of 2009 for $120, along with a Gigbyte GA790X-UPD4 mobo, which I'm still using. Considering it gave me the performance of a $300 CPU back in 2009, and has been running virtually continuously practically every day since then at 3.5GHz@1.45v using a Zalman CPNS10x quiet cooler, as far as I'm concerned, this CPU owes me nothing.

Just bought a Cooler Master Storm Trooper case and Antec H20 620 Kuler. Now that I've finally got water cooling (muhaha!), I've been pushing the volts up to 1.5v and moving up the multi for another 100MHz every few days. Just bumped it up to 3.9GHz using only the multiplier (memory and Hypertransport all at stock speeds), and it seems stable. About to test it thoroughly at this speed.

[On a quick side note, I've also included the GPU-Z showing my bios flashed Gigabyte Windforce 7950 3GB card (it has a dual bios switch) now running at 1000MHz core with the Gigabyte Windforce 7970 bios (100MHz faster than the factory overclock from Gigabyte) and 1375MHz (vs. factory 1250MHz) memory absolutely stable. I highly recommend this card, especially for a 3 monitor setup like I have.]

So I've had this computer that a buddy helped me build in 2010 and I never even though about using the core unlocker feature that the mobo has... I tried it the other day and turns out I had a 4 core CPU. I'm not in any way new to computers, but I'm new to doing stuff like this...

Looking to try and overclock my CPU, I'm trying to squeeze some more performance out of it before I have to give up and buy some new parts.

Here's my validation from CPU-Z:

I picked up the AMD Overdrive utility, but like I said I'm new to overclocking and computer work of this nature, so I'm hoping for some tips before I dive in!

And here's a screencap of the CPU-Z that shows a bit more detail than the tiny thumbnail thing:

I got mine up to 3630 mhz with a biostar ta870+ and Turion Power Control. My volt is 1.5. I will try 3700-3800 mhz.

Update: I have mine up to 3850 with volt 1.55. The trick is to raise NB voltage to 1.2xxx volt.
Code:
Northbridge Power States table:
Node 0 of 1
PState 0 - NbVid 28 (1.2125) NbDid 0 NbFid 6
PState 1 - NbVid 32 (1.1625) NbDid 0 NbFid 6
PState 2 - NbVid 32 (1.1500) NbDid 0 NbFid 6
PState 3 - NbVid 32 (1.1500) NbDid 0 NbFid 6
PState 4 - NbVid 40 (1.0500) NbDid 0 NbFid 6
Northbridge Maximum frequency: no maximum frequency, unlocked NB multiplier

Core 0 C1E CMP halt bit is enabled
Core 1 C1E CMP halt bit is enabled
Core 2 C1E CMP halt bit is enabled
Core 3 C1E CMP halt bit is enabled

Voltage Regulator Slamming time register: 6
Voltage Regulator Step Up Ramp Time: 3
Voltage Regulator Step Down Ramp Time: 1
Processor PState Identifier: 0x1d
Processor is using Serial VID Interface (probably Dual Plane mode)
PSI_L bit enabled (improve VRM efficiency in low power)
PSI voltage threshold VID: 0 (1.550v)

I have c1e enabled and Step Up and Step Down modified. My fsb is clocked with 220 mhz because it uses an automatic overclock. My pc is only 3d mark 11 stable and I didn't run prime and I don't want too.
