How much of a difference will there be between my $5 4.1 Mad Dog Sound card and an X-Fi Xtreme Music using those headphones?
Like you wouldnt believe. The difference is incredible.

Then how do you tweak it because I also have x-fi. Mine is ExtremeMusic.

If you want the ultimate headphones, go for BOSE Tri-port headphones.

Quite steep at $150, but I love them. They are worth every penny. Better than anything I have ever tried.

No, I *HIGHLY* recommend Sennheiser over BOSE. Sennheiser is THX certified, whereas BOSE...........isn't

That says a lot about a company

There is nothing wrong with Bose, although their headphones are pricey their speakers sound amazing.

It's just a combination of the CMSS settings, the crystalizer, the EQ, etc. Once you've master using those, you can really tweak the card to make the most of whatever you're listening to. I challenge anyone with the X-Fi and a nice set of headphones or a nice speaker setup to get INXS Live Baby Live and turn off the CMSS, leave the crystalizer on, leave the EQ flat, and tell me that isn't one of the best concerts you've ever seen in your life. Absolutely amazing, even if you have no idea who INXS were or ever liked them. (trust me on this one, you won't be sorry)

Very well saying that Krunk Kracker, but have you compared yourself some of the BOSE headphones, and then the some of the best Sennheiser headphones? I have, and thats why I chose the tri-port.

Or if you have the Matrix Theme, listen to the paino solo. The notes are so clean and pure.
