Rampage III Extreme X58 Information thread - Page 11

I bought mine from NCIX for just over 400 CAD and can't wait for it!
Too bad it was on backorder within the first day selling.
Hoping to see a good overclock from my 920, shame i don't water cool (yet).

Tiger's got a 10% cash back deal with Bing, so $360 if you go with them.

I'm not willing to share from who and how I got these pictures but here you go, you wont find these anywhere else on the internet.

I know that April 14th was the supposed release date for this board, but has Asus ever actually given it a definitive release date? I'm probably not going to purchase anything in the near future, but the Rampage III caught my attention immediately. The mystery shrouding it's release and the lack of information regarding the fairly publicized ROG overclocking event has me even more curious than I was in the first place. What's going on?

Okay, I have updated the OP a little bit.

Anyone have any suggestions for what I can add?

Also, anyone pre ordered this baby yet?

I'm not sure if it's been asked yet, but if you're running two videocards, do they have to be in the first and third slot to both be x16? I believe I read somewhere that this was the case.

This is the board I'm planning on getting for my next build, but my only concern is that if I end up getting two video cards and have to use the third slot, my PCI slot for my soundcard will be blocked.

iirc this board has 16x on all the lane because of the NF chip, or it could be the first 3 at 16x and the last 8x.

You can just run 16x + 8x + 8x. Video card on third slot wont be bottlenecked.

No, this motherboard does not use the nF 200 chip. Did you bother reading the OP?

Either 16x + 16x, 16x + 8x + 8x or 8x + 8x + 8x + 8x
