For the 2 molex connectors on the mobo for the pci-e slots, I have 3 480's running at 800/2000 24/7 and have not seen any reason to plug those in. I've benched up to 880/2100 and haven't ran into any problems. Am I missing something here with those connections? Why dose anyone need to hook those up if I can run 3 480's gaming for 4+ hours and never have a problem.
For normal use (gaming, ext) I don't see the point. Maybe if your Ln2 cooling some 480's and trying to push 1100 on the core's..
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I like the look of the least amount of wires possible.
