keep the NH-D14 and not use the optional NB fan?

vs

return NH-D14 for a corsair H70 and have optional NB fan + H70 in my HAF X?

i've been unable to find a definitive answer on the performance of the optional fan so i'm kinda in the dark. i would have liked to keep everything air cooled as it is all in a HAF X, but i'm flexible if need be. maybe someone else has a better suggestion, also.

Here is the big ? What kind of CPU are u gonna be using? A extreme CPU can reach serious overclocks without upping the qpi/nb/sb speeds. If using a i7 920 or something like that where u have to up the blck to 200 then u need to worry more about those temps. If u have good air flow around the nb, the fan isn't needed.

Water cooling may seem like a pain. But it's well worth the work in the end if your trying to push things to the limit. You can easily set up a nice water loop in the haf x and you would love it. Custom water is far superior to a h70. I have a 980x and 3 480's on water and can game all day long without worrying a bit.

Pm me if you want some more info, pics, or advise. Always willing to help.

Hi all - Most of time here on OCN has been spent in the 800D and Watercooling forums but I am looking for some input, so here I am.

I am very likely going to be moving from an EVGA 760 MB to an ASUS R3E in the near future but I am concerned about my GPU setup and my soundcard. I have a Creative Titanium xFi

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102021

On my 760 this fits in the top slot above the first 16x slot, which works out fine. On the R3E I am seeing it correctly in that it would have to go between the 2nd and 3rd GPU slot thus effectively making me unable to have a GTX 470 in that second slot?

Currently I only have 2x GTX 470 and running them in the first and third red slots would be the plan but I did intend to move up to tri SLI in the future.

Any input on this would be appreciated.

I suggest you put the 470 in the 1st slot and the 2nd 470 in the 3rd slot for 16x 16x bandwidth.

Then you you put your soundcard in the black pci-E slot between the cards.

When you go tri-sli in the future, put your sound card in the very bottom red pci-E slot.

Guys, i am trying to decide between going with the Evga 770 classified and REIII. I am leading toward the REIII, but would have to learn a whole new BIOS. I am a noob and the ASUS bios have a lot more options then the Classified. I have the 759 now, but I am in fear that my 24pin will melt, I have went through two power supplies already on this board, so that is the reason for the chance. I am getting the 770 as a replacement in the RMA process and will cost me nothing. But I am thinking about moving to the extreme and selling the 770. Any help or suggestion would be helpful.

Well, I find ASUS bios'es far more user friendly than EVGAs... and I've used both in the past.

Atleast you wont get any melting with the R3E!

I'm putting in a new RIIIE board next week with a I7 950. Would I have to still update the bios?
