Im pretty new to this and cant really find any threads anywhere with a good baseline to start off at for OC'ing. Perhaps someone could help me out a little. My system is:

HAF-X Case
I7-950
Rampage III Extreme(Of course)
H-70 Cooler
2 Sets of GSkill F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) RAM
Antec 1200w PSU
2 MSI GTX 580 OC/TwinFrozrII Graphics cards
I would like to try and get to around 4.0ghz if thats possible with this setup. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Mike
I used this as a starting point, then once I was more comfortable w/ intel oc (coming off amd ) I tweaked these parameters to suit my oc. Most notable is I switched to 200 fsb since my old ram was only decent at most (not the sig'd, still pending delivery). Keep in mind YMMV
Welcome to ocn, don't forget to add you rig's components in the user control panel (click on "edit system" on the left side in the ucp)

Hi Mate, are you just interested in OC'ing it or watercooling your PC?
Here some links for OC'ing:

http://hothardware.com/Articles/Over...920-Processor/
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...e-i7,2268.html

http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...920-930-a.html
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...php?t=17612922

I use multiplier 21 to start and stay below 200BCLK
templates give you a good idea of what are other people using with specific bios, however your CPU is unique and you will have to figure out it's max speed by yourself...
watercooling recommended, stay cool ;-)

You should be able to with that setup. I'm sitting at 4.2GHz stable. There are my specs if u wana check it out. But don't know how well that cooling unit works. Mine is liquid cooled with a koolance loop setup, and my temps are between 35C idle to 40C with prime 95 running

as far as OC'ing go into your bios on startup, and change your settings, Which CPU chip are you running I have found that intel's like odd number multipliers mines at 23. Then just up base clock mines 184. with that board you really don't need to mess with the CPU(v) to much little tweeks to stabilize it.
If you have a laptop (or 2nd PC) use RC Tweak It program after u go into bios and change your base clock. Its a great way to adjust while your mobo is running and know where your limits are.

Anyone else having problems / can help me with how I can get my 6 gig Dominator RAM as triple channel and working as 6 GB? Because my A-channel red slot isn't working, planning on getting it RMA'd but wondering if I can do something to sort it out myself. My CPU is overclocked to 4 GHz 24/7 and stable, uncore voltage is pretty high (almost 1.4) and DRAM voltage is 1.65xxx cant remember the small numbers but just over 1.65 and still it wont take it, so I guess my DIMM is dead? No faulty stick, currently running them as dual channel 6 GB, but hoping for some help

And yes the sticks were seated properly!

Well, the first obvious question would be... does the RAM work properly when you are NOT overclocked?

quick ? I'm getting this board and ill be coming from a p6x58d premium in my sig-rig. Currently i'm doing upgrades and the rigs all apart, so i was wondering when i get this board, should i first uninstall all the drivers from the old board, thenhook up the new board? Or just put the rig together with the new board and then unistall the drivers and install the new drivers?

IMHO I would only do a clean install with a major change like that.
