Anyone have some efficient overclocking for a 930...
i'm using
bclk 176
cpu v1.225
qpi/dram v 1.25
dram bus v 1.65

I still have this mb and its still taking names. I have two 680's now and only get 3 less frames then people with current gen mb's. I have the latest bios and had to redo my overclock but it will still do 4.2. If you search for my other posts in this thread you'll find my settings to get to that overclock. But keep in mind my CPU and mb are under water.

I have the ROG Rampage III GENE. This board is in 9.6x9.6 from factor. I bought this board perhaps a year ago so I could make a small form factor gaming PC.I have not been able to get it going except on a test station (underwater) but there sure are a lot of fun features to play with when you are dealing with ROG products.

I want to pickup a FractualDesign case for it and some modern gpu's (perhaps just one high end gpu)

Does anyone know how to connect USB 3.0 ports on the top of Thermaltake Level 10 GT with this MOBO?

The board does have a PLX bridge chip which seems to act like the NF200. After all, you can run 3 cards with x16 lanes.

Good points, but... everything I've read points to the Rampage III Extreme having the nF200 bridge for the graphics cards, not a PLX bridge.

Edit; caught up on the topic on other forums, looks like they cut out the nF200 bridge. Still, there's the possibility that they'll have a revision later with the bridge in place. However I haven't been able to determine if there's a PLX bridge or not... I would assume so since USB 3.0 and SATA 6.0Gbps would be using tons of bandwidth.

Sorry to question a very old post Chunky_Chimp,

But wouldn't the USB 3.0 and Sata 6.0 be served via the ICH10s 1x lanes? (neither require 4x bandwidth)

I don't believe the Rampage III Extreme has either a NF200 or PLX chip as the x58 already offers 40 lanes for the 16/8x slots. i assume one of the slots splits down to 4x if the 4x slot is also occupied

From what i can tell, the initial CES demo board (apart from having some layout difference and an extra pci-e molex), had a PLX chip
White slot review boards also had the plx chip
but the final production models do not.

Hey guys I've got a question I've been meaning to ask for a while. I'm currently running two Titans on my R3E and have never used that additional 4 pin Molex next to the PCIE lanes. If I plugged that in could I expect any sort of performance/stability increase?

It is recommended that you plug it in for multi GPU setups to increase power supply to PCIE lanes even though I've never used it even when I was running three GTX 680s.

its only really useful for extreme overclocking under LN2

Btw Bloodbath, can i get you to open up Aida64 and post the information from the Chipset section for the X58 and ICH chips.

im mainly looking for the information under the PCI Express Controller

I figure aida64 should show how the chipset distributes the pci-e ports (a forum elsewhere indicated the 4x slot as running from the ICH instead of x58)
