How would two GTX480 in SLI + PhysX card work on this board? Would it work at 16x16x4 or 16x8x8 ?

It would be 16x + 8x + 8x. You will not notice any difference sine card 2 isnt utilzed fully anyway.

I have a GTX260 spare that I was thinking to use as physX card.

I still have to finish Metro2033, MAFIA II (coming out soon), besides these physX titles I'm also playing Bad Company 2, Stalker-COP and other non physX games.

So would you recommend 2x480's + 260physx, or just 2x480's plain on the R3E?

Running single 1080p screen.

Forgot the part with 480's .

Just run SLI + PhysX on GPU 2.

Newest drivers allows this.. so no need for the 260 as your 480 SLI can handle it easy .

Infact, a single GTX 480 can operate normally with physx on without FPS drop.

I want to start OC'ing soon. I feel that keeping my i7 at stock doesn't do this board justice. I know there are OC guides on the forums, but those are general guides. I figured if I posted here, I would get exact steps to follow. I'm not looking for a crazy OC right now, I need this processor to last me. I was thinking a mild OC of 3.0 - 3.3 ish. I'm also not sure if my RAM is running at 1600MHz. Any way to check that it is? Keep in mind that I'm not a noob when it comes to computers, but I am a complete noob when it comes to OC'ing.

-Cheers

Omg an i7 at stock speed on a rampage?? That's like blasphemy lol . And yea I just got an i7 930 with the R3e board so any tips from the guys that have this board already would be awesome.

Also, has anybody had any trouble mouting a heatkiller 3.0 backplate on this board?. has some sort of holding plate for the cpu socket.
